Not gonna pretend this is relevant to everybody here. It's very Belarus-specific, but hey, maybe it'll help somebody eventually.

I recently helped with a renovation and went down a bit of a rabbit hole researching ceilings. What started as "let's just fix this thing" turned into comparing different approaches, materials, prep work, and trying to figure out which parts actually needed a pro.

I ran across this page about ceiling renovation while doing all that research. It was useful as a starting point and gave me a few things to think about before we made any decisions.

The main lesson for me was not to rush the prep stage. It isn't the fun part, but it makes everything after that a lot easier.

I can also go into way more detail if anyone cares. We did quite a bit of the kitchen ourselves, figured out some things as we went, outsourced a couple of jobs, and there's honestly a whole story behind the rest of the renovation too.
